When the mission is complete, Jeremiah tells Mackenzie that they cannot survive while the bear is on the loose and that the only possible way to kill the bear is the legendary Bear spear, which can be found at the Hunting Lodge in Broken Railroad. Mackenzie manages to close the gate, stopping the charge but getting knocked out. In Episode 2, the Old Bear makes his first appearance at the Carter Hydro Dam where he charges Mackenzie when he is entering the fenced-in area. The Old Bear is first faced in the closing seconds of Episode 1, where Will Mackenzie is faced with it attacking Jeremiah.
